SP2 Getting Started
Connecting Pedals
Plug your switch or continuous pedals into the corresponding jacks on the SP2’s rear panel.
AlthoughwerecommendusingtheKurzweilpedalsdescribedonpage1‐2,youcanusealmost
anyswitchorcontinuouspedal,aslongasitadherestothefollowingspecifications..
•switchpedals1/4inchtip‐sleeveplugs
•continuouspedals10kOhmlinear‐taperpotentiometer1/4inchtip‐sleeveplug
Whenusingnon‐Kurzweilpedal,makesureit’sconnectedbeforeyouturnonyour
SP2.Also,do notpressanyofyourpedalswhilepoweringup,or it might workbackwards
becausetheSP2verifieseachpedal’sorientationduringpowerup.
Powering Up
When you’ve made all your connections, turn on the SP2. After the LEDs on the front panel
flash,thenumericdisplayonthefrontpanelwillshowaseriesofinformation.WhentheSP2is
readytoplay,thedisplaywilllooklikefollowing:

To prevent any damage to your sound system, set the SP2’s master volume slider all theway
down before you turn on the SP2. And then, gradually push up the slider while playing the
keyboard
