thesamemanufacturer.
•Toorderreplacementbatteries,call1-800-426-7378withintheUnitedStates,and1-800-465-7999or
1-800-465-6666withinCanada.OutsidetheU.S.andCanada,callyourLenovosalesrepresentativeor
Lenovoreseller.
•Afteryoureplacethesystem-boardbattery,youmustreconfiguretheserverandresetthesystemdate
andtime.
•Toavoidpossibledanger,readandfollowthefollowingsafetystatement.

Whenreplacingthelithiumbattery,useonlyLenovoPartNumber33F8354oranequivalenttype
batteryrecommendedbythemanufacturer.Ifyoursystemhasamodulecontainingalithiumbattery,
replaceitonlywiththesamemoduletypemadebythesamemanufacturer.Thebatterycontains
lithiumandcanexplodeifnotproperlyused,handled,ordisposedof.
Donot:
•Throworimmerseintowater
•Heattomorethan100°C(212°F)
•Repairordisassemble
Disposeofthebatteryasrequiredbylocalordinancesorregulations.
Toinstallthereplacementsystembattery,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Followanyspecialhandlingandinstallationinstructionsthatcomewiththereplacementbattery.
Step2.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage34.
Step3.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,
ifnecessary.
Step4.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage195).
Step5.Ifnecessary,liftthePCIriser-cardassembly2outoftheway(see“RemovingaPCIriser-card
assembly”onpage221).
