Removingamicroprocessorandheatsink
Usethisinformationtoremoveamicroprocessorandheatsink.
Microprocessorsaretoberemovedonlybytrainedtechnicians.
Important:Alwaysusethemicroprocessorinstallationtooltoremoveamicroprocessor.Failingtouse
themicroprocessorinstallationtoolmaydamagethemicroprocessorsocketsonthesystemboard.Any
damagetothemicroprocessorsocketsmayrequirereplacingthesystemboard.
Beextremelycareful,themicroprocessorsocketcontactsareveryfragile.Donottouchthe
microprocessorsocketcontacts.Contaminantsonthemicroprocessorcontactsormicroprocessorsocket
contacts,suchasoilfromyourskin,cancauseconnectionfailuresbetweenthecontactsandthesocket.
Donotallowthethermalgreaseonthemicroprocessorandheatsinktocomeincontactwithanything.
Contactwithanysurfacecancontaminatethethermalgreaseandthemicroprocessorsocket.
Donotuseanytoolsorsharpobjectstoliftthelockingleversonthemicroprocessorsocket.Doingso
mightresultinpermanentdamagetothesystemboard.
