Toinstallahot-swapacpowersupply,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”
onpage34.
Step2.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthehot-swappowersupplytoanyunpainted
metalsurfaceontheserver;then,removethepowersupplyfromthepackageandplaceiton
astatic-protectivesurface.
Step3.Ifyouareaddingapowersupplytotheserver,attachtheredundantpowerinformationlabelthat
comeswiththisoptionontheservercovernearthepowersupplies.
Step4.Graspthehandleontherearofthepowersupplyandslidethepowersupplyforwardintothe
power-supplybayuntilitclicks.Makesurethatthepowersupplyconnectsfirmlyintothe
power-supplyconnector.
Attention:Donotinstallpowersuppliesofdifferentwattintheserver.
Step5.Routethepowercordthroughthehandleandcabletieifany,sothatitdoesnotaccidentally
becomeunplugged.
Step6.Connectthepowercordforthenewpowersupplytothepower-cordconnectoronthepower
supply.
Step7.Connecttheotherendofthepowercordtoaproperlygroundedelectricaloutlet.
Step8.MakesurethattheacpowerLEDandthedcpowerLEDontheacpowersupplyarelit,indicating
thatthepowersupplyisoperatingcorrectly.ThetwogreenLEDsaretotherightofthepower-cord
connector.
Step9.Ifyouarereplacingapowersupplywithoneofadifferentwattageintheserver,applythenew
powerinformationlabelprovidedovertheexistingpowerinformationlabelontheserver.Power
suppliesintheservermustbewiththesamepowerratingorwattagetoensurethattheserver
willoperatecorrectly.
