Beforeyoubegin,considerthefollowingharddiskdriveinstallationrules:
•Followtheorderoftheharddiskdrivebayswheninstallingaharddiskdrive.See“Servercomponents”
onpage25tolocatetheharddiskdrivebaysinyourserver.
•ForRAIDconguration,theharddiskdrivesmustbethesametypewiththesamecapacityiftheyare
withinasingleRAIDarray.Formoreinformation,see“ConguringRAID”onpage73.
•Forharddiskdriveswithdifferentcapacities,installtheharddiskdrivewiththelowestcapacityrst.

Toremoveanon-hot-swapharddiskdrive,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
