appliesonlytoservermodelsthathavethecoverpresenceswitchinstalled.
Note:Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationsinthistopic.
Toreplacethecoverpresenceswitch,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage65.
3.Locatethecoverpresenceswitch.See“Servercomponents”onpage22.
4.Disconnectthecableofthecoverpresenceswitchfromthecoverpresenceswitchconnectoronthe
systemboard.See“Systemboardcomponents”onpage37.
5.Removethescrewthatsecuresthecoverpresenceswitchassembly.Then,pushthecoverpresence
switchassemblytothefrontofthechassisuntilitisreleasedfromthechassis,andthenremove
itoutofthechassis.
