Mechanical Drive for Exit Drive
The Main Motor provides mechanical drive for the Offset and Exit Rolls. The Main Drive
Assembly transmits drive to the Inverter CW Clutch and to the Inverter CCW Clutch. At a
specific point in the print cycle the MCU switches on the CW Clutch. The CW Clutch
transmits forward drive to the Offset Roll, which drives the sheet of paper into the Face
Down Output Tray. If the printer is running in Duplex Mode, at a specific point in the
forward drive, the MCU switches off the CW Clutch and switches on the CCW Clutch. The
CCW Clutch transmits reverse drive to the Offset Roll and to the Exit Roll, which drive the
paper back across the top of the Fuser Assembly and into the Duplex Unit.
