withoutyourpermission.Forexample,ifyourdeviceislost,stolen,orwiped,onlysomeonewithyour
GoogleAccountorscreenlockinformationcanusethedevice.
Allyouneedtomakesureyourdeviceisprotectedis:
n Set a screen lock:Ifyourdeviceislostorstolenbutyouhaveascreenlockset,thedevicecan’t
beerasedusingtheSettingsmenuunlessyourscreenisunlocked.
n Add your Google Account on your device:IfyourdeviceiswipedbutyouhaveyourGoogle
Accountonit,thedevicecan’tfinishthesetupprocessuntilyourGoogleaccountinformationis
enteredagain.
Afteryourdeviceisprotected,you’llneedtoeitherunlockyourscreenorenteryourGoogleAccount
passwordifyouneedtodoafactoryreset.Thisensuresthatyouorsomeoneyoutrustisdoingthe
reset.
Note:DonotforgetyourGoogleAccountandpasswordyouhadaddedtoyourdevicepriorto
performingafactoryreset.Ifyoucan’tprovidetheaccountinformationduringthesetupprocess,you
won’tbeabletousethedeviceatallafterperformingthefactoryreset.
