64 CHAPTER 7: GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TRYTON 107/112
5. LATERAL PIVOTING DEVICE / LOADING ARM (OPTION)
Please read the safety precautions described at the beginning of this manual before
handling the following devices.
5.1. Description
When a lathe is equipped with a bar feed system, certain elements (motors, spindle reduction tubes, etc.)
become inaccessible, and sometimes it is difficult, or even impossible, to proceed with their maintenance.
To facilitate these tasks, the TRYTON 107/112 can be equipped with a loading arm, which allows the
operator to move the bar feeder.
The rigidity of the system guarantees a perfect alignment when the bar feed system is in working position.
The feeder is held in working position by a bolting device (B), fitted with a safety switch that prevents any
manipulation when the feeder is not in working position.
It is strictly prohibited to use the retraction system before
the bar feed system is anchored to the ground.
Before handling the loading arm, check to see that the
interface cables between the lathe and the bar feed system
are long enough.
5.2. Procédure
Conditions:
• Feeder in MAN or STOP position
• No bar between the feeder and the lathe
• Pusher inside the feeder
• The area around the bar-feeder must be clear
1. Raise the support arm (A).
2. Push the arm against the stop so that it is resting on its support.
Attention : if the arm is not placed correctly, the bar-feeder
may fall causing considerable physical and material damage.
3. Loosen the lever (B) and unscrew until the screw is free.
4. Pivot the feeder.
When maintenance operations are finished, bring the bar-feeder back to
the working position.
Resecure with the lever (B) then bring the support arm (A) down again.
