OPERATING OPTIONAL CONTROLS
Auxiliary Winch Operation
See Figure 3-32 for the following procedure.
Always keep hands and clothing clear of the fairlead rollers
and front opening while the winch is operating. Keep persons
away from the area. Injury can be caused if the wire rope
breaks or the hook becomes disconnected.
To Engage/Disengage the Winch
Pull the clutch handle out and turn it 90° to DISENGAGE the
winch clutch. This position allows the wire rope to be
manually pulled off the drum.
Turn the clutch handle 90° and release it (in) to ENGAGE the
winch clutch. This position allows the winch drum to be
hydraulically powered.
To Pay Out the Wire Rope
Engage the winch clutch. Hold down the top of the switch
(Figure 3-32). Keep tension on the wire rope to inhibit
twisting of the wire rope on the winch drum.
To Stop the Winch
Release the switch to the center.
To Haul In the Wire Rope
Engage the winch clutch. Hold the bottom of the switch.
Pay out wire rope - press top of switch
Stop Winch - center switch
Haul in wire rope - press bottom of switch
