63. Install grease fitting assembly (67) to rear of tele 3 (4)
using nut (68). Orient grease fitting such that it is
perpendicular to tele 3 (4) (left and right sides) (see
Figure 4-74).
64. Attach grease hose (70) to grease fitting assembly (67)
at rear of tele 3 (4). Route hose through access hole in
tele 4. Attach grease hose (70) to wear pad (125) using
the elbow (69) and adapter (66) (left and right sides)
(see Figure 4-74).
65. Secure all wear pads to tele 3 (4) using a strap (N).
Place strap around edge of wear pads farthest from the
rear end of tele 3 (4) (see Figure 4-74).
66. Spray multipurpose grease (P) on outside of tele 3 (4).
Measuring approximately 1/4 of the distance of the
boom from the front tip, leave a 5 ft. wide strip of boom
free of grease to install wear pads (see Figure 4-75).
67. Place wear pad (76) and the two shims (75) against tele
3 (4) and secure them using a strap (Q). Place two
blocks of wood or similar, with rubber pads on both
sides, directly in front of and against the wear pads and
shims and secure them with a strap (see Figure 4-75).
68. Position tele 2 (3) up side down and in back of tele 3 (4).
Set tele 2 (3) on adequate supports.
69. Insert tele 3 (4) into tele 2 (3) until wear pads and shims
strapped to tele 3 (4) are near the front of tele 2 (3). Lift
and lower tele 3 (4) as necessary until wear pads and
shims slip into tele 2 (3), then remove strap. Continue to
insert tele 3 (4) into tele 2 (3) until wear pads and shims
are fully inserted (see Figure 4-76).
70. Install two wear pad assemblies (78) (left and right
sides) into front of tele 2 (3) (see Figure 4-76).
71. Install eight wear pad adjusting capscrews (22) and nuts
(21) into front of tele 2 (3) (left and right sides). Run
capscrews (22) in until wear pad assemblies (78) touch
tele 3 (4) (see Figure 4-76).
72. Install three keeper plates (77) to front of tele 2 (3) using
twelve bolts (13) and flat washers (10) (left, right, and
center) (see Figure 4-77).
