2.3 Setting up the aspiration and reagent bottle
Mode of operation of the built-in pump
With the built-in pump, one can on the one hand add fresh reagent easily
at the press of a button, while on the other hand one can also empty the
titration cell (coulometry) at the press of a button. This can be accom-
plished if all of the required tubing connections have been set up correctly
and if all of the connectors have been screwed tightly enough to seal.
The following diagram gives an overview of the mode of operation.
1. Air will be pumped into the reagent bottle (on the left) for as long as
the left-hand key A is kept pressed down.
2. The overpressure in the reagent bottle pushes fresh reagent into the
titration cell.
3. Air will be suctioned out of the aspiration bottle (on the right) for as
long as the right-hand button B is kept pressed down.
4. The vacuum in the aspiration bottle suctions the liquid out of the
titration cell and into the aspiration bottle.
NOTICE
The catholyte must be replaced manually at regular intervals.
Please observe the manufacturer's specifications.
