5 Setup and configuration
5.1 Preparing instruments and material
What you will need:
￭ A 917 Coulometer, including accompanying accessories
￭ An analytical balance
￭ A water standard with a water content, e.g., of 1 mg/g
￭ A USB printer with connecting cable, in case you wish to print out
reports.
5.2 Configuring reagent data
The coulometric reagents used can be administered and monitored. The
following conditions for the monitoring of a reagent can be defined:
￭ Number of determinations
￭ Working life
￭ Reagent capacity
￭ Drift
If a monitored parameter reaches the set limit, then the reagent replace-
ment can be carried out manually or automatically.
The reagents are configured under System ▶ Reagents.
Proceed as follows to configure the reagents:

Open the list of reagents.
￭ In the main dialog, select the [System] button.
￭ Tap on [Reagents].
￭ Select [New] and enter a name for the reagent.
￭ Tap on [Reagent mon.] and set the limit of the monitored para-
meter.
￭ Select the [Reagent replacement] button and specify [manual]
or [auto].
