4 Service
4.1 Fill-Ring NTC Removal
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove the front panel; see Section 010-4.3.
3. Disconnect the NTC wiring harness.
4. Using needlenose pliers, grasp the NTC and pull it out of its seal on the
air shield (refer to Figure 050-1, Item 1).
4.2 Air Shield Removal
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove the front panel; see Section 010-4.3.
3. Remove the metal support bracket; see Section 010-4.5.
4. Take out the heat exchanger (condenser models only).
5. Release the drum light and the door lock assembly from the air shield.
6. Remove the fill-ring NTC; see Section 050-4.1. See also Figure 050-1,
Item 1.
7. Remove the four T20 screws securing the upper portion and the two T30
screws securing the lower portion of the air shield (Figure 050-1).
8. Lift the air shield up slightly, release it from the casing, and pull it down
and off the appliance chassis.
9. Prop up the front of the drum to reduce any strain on the rear bearing.
