Port Event Settings
Port Events are related to the activity of a specif ic port.
Warning e-mail is sent when…
The port is connected to another device.
Link-OFF
The port is disconnected (e.g., the cable is pulled out, or the opposing device
shuts down).
Traffic-Overload
The port’s traffic surpasses the Traffic-Threshold f or that port (provided this item
is Enabled).
Enter a nonzero number if the port’s Traf f ic-Overload item is Enabled.
Traffic-Duration (sec.)
A Traffic-Overload warning is sent every Traf f ic-Duration seconds if the average
Traffic-Threshold is surpassed during that time period.
Four response actions are available on the EDS E series when events are triggered.
The EDS E series will send a notification to the trap server when an event is triggered.
The EDS E series will send a notif ication to the email server def ined in the Email Setting.
The EDS E series will record a syslog to syslog server defined in Syslog Server Setting.
Relay
The EDS E series supports digital inputs to integrate sensors. When an event is triggered,
the device will automate alarms through the relay output.

NOTE
The Traf f ic-Overload, Traf f ic-Threshold (%), and Traf f ic-Duration (sec.) Port Event items are related. If you
Enable the Traf f ic-Overload event, then be sure to enter a nonzero Traffic-Threshold percentage, as well as
a Traffic-Duration between 1 and 300 seconds.
