Manual transmission
Use this method when the other fax machine uses manual reception, or when you transmit after finishing the
phone conversation.
Transmitting a fax manually

Switch to fax mode.

Load your document onto the automatic document feeder.

Press <Monitor> on the control panel or lift the handset.
Check that you hear the beep tone.
You can operate similarly by pressing <Menu>, selecting “On hook” using the cursor keys and pressing
[Enter].

Dial the destination.
•Whenpickingupthehandsettomakethecall,ifthereceivingpartyisusingmanualreception,havethat
party prepare to receive the fax.
•Ifyouwanttohangup,putdownthehandsetorpress<Monitor>or[Onhook]ontheLCD.

When you hear the beep from other fax machine, press <Start>.
When you pick up the handset to make the call, put it down.
•Youcannotusethedocumentglassinthemanualtransmission.
•Thebroadcasttransmissionisnotavailableinthemanualtransmission.
•Ifyouentertheincorrectdestinationnumber,press<Monitor>orputdownthehandsettohangup,thenstart
from the beginning again.
•Tocancelthetransmission,press<JobConrm./FaxCancel>.
