Getting Started with VirtualBench 11-2 www.ni.com
The front panel of VirtualBench-Counter has the following features:
Measurement DisplayDisplays the measurements, including the
type and units of the measurement.
Measurement Mode SelectorSelects which measurement mode
you want to use, from left to right:
FrequencyMeasures the frequency of the unknown signal.
Totalize (Count Edges)—Counts rising edges and accumulates
the total.
PeriodMeasures the period of an unknown signal.
High Pulse WidthMeasures the positive pulse width of an
unknown signal.
Low Pulse WidthMeasures the negative pulse width of an
unknown signal.
Duty CycleMeasures the percentage of time that an unknown
signal is high versus its period.
Time Between 2 EdgesMeasures the amount of time between
a rising edge on one input and a rising edge on another input.
Phase AngleMeasures the phase difference between two
unknown signals of the same frequency.
Frequency RatioMeasures the ratio of one frequency to
another.
Encoder-PositionMonitors the relative position and number of
revolutions of a motion encoder.
Encoder SpeedMeasures the speed at which a motion encoder
moves.
Main Control ButtonsThe main control buttons include Run,
Single, and Reset:
RunStarts or stops the Counter acquisition.
SingleAcquires a single measurement.
ResetResets the Totalize (Count Edges) value or
Encoder-Position to 0.
Maximum Measurement Time (seconds)—Determines the time
taken during a frequency measurement or the amount of time to wait
before timing out for the other measurements.
