Operatingthemachineinhighaltitude
Airdensitydecreasesasaltitudeorambienttemperature
increases.
Asaresultofthis,theengine’smaximumoutput,quality
ofexhaustgas,temperatureleveland,inextremecases,
startingbehavior,areimpaired.
Enginecanbeusedataltitudesupto3000m(9842ft)
andtemperaturesupto50°C(122°F)formobileopera-
tions.
Iftheengineistooperateundermoresevereconditions
(athigheraltitudesortemperatures),itwillbenecessary
toreducetheinjectedfuelquantitywiththeresultingloss
ofenginepower.
Observethefollowingrecommendations:

Maintainthecorrectcoolantlevelinthecoolantreser-
voir.
•
Checktheconditionofthecoolerplugbeforestarting
andreplaceitifnecessary.
•
Carefullycleanthecoolerandtheengine.
•
Checktheconditionofthealternatorbeltandengine
fanbelt.
•
Uselubricantswiththerecommendeddegreeofviscos-
ity.
•
Useanappropriatecoolant.
