NOTICE:UnlesstheHydrocarbon(HC)levelhasreachedthemostcriticallevel(SCRcatalystfull),running
theunitunderloadisadvantageousforquicklyreducingtheHClevels.
Iftheengineoperatesatlowidlespeedforaprolongedperiodoftime,hydrocarbonscanaccumulateintheSCRcat-
alyst.T omanagethisaccumulation,yourmachinewillmonitorcurrentconditionsandincreaseidlespeedorrequest
actionfromtheoperatorinordertoincreasethetemperatureinsidetheSCRcatalystandeliminatethehydrocarbons.

NOTE:Thisautomaticengineidlespeedincreaseisinhibitedifanyoftheconditionsarenotmetorcertainfeatures
areactiveonthemachine.Forexample:operatingthehandorfootthrottle.
NOTE:Theoperatorisfreetointerrupttheautoidleincreaseandoperatethemachine.Thedisplaymaychangeto
thelowidleincreaserecommended
,ifthesystemdeterminesthatadditionalHydrocarbon(HC)reduction
isrequired.

1.PlacetheFORWARD-NEUTRAL-REVERSE(F-N-R)lever

2.Engagetheparkbrake.
3.Usethehandthrottleandmanuallyincreasetheengine
speedto1500RPM.
NOTE:TheoperatordoesnotneedtostaywiththemachineduringtheHydrocarbonmanagementprocedure.Once
theprocedureiscompletethedisplaymessagewilldisappearandtheoperatormayresumemachineoperation.
NOTE:Thisproceduremaytakeapproximately1–2htocompletedependingontheambientairtemperature.
NOTICE:Donotturnofftheengine,drivethemachine,orincreasetheloadonthemachinetoavoiddamagetothe
catalyst.
