Turnthekeyswitchtotheonpositionandverifythatwarning/indicatorlightsilluminateandturnoffasdesigned.
Testtheparkingandservicebrakes
NOTE:Reviewtheproceduresintheirentiretybeforeproceeding.Ensureyouallowsurplusroomformachinetravel.
1.Totesttheparkingbrake:
A.MakesurethatthebackhoeisinthestowedpositionwiththebackhoeswinglockpinintheLOCKposition.
B.Lockthebrakepedalstogetherwiththebrakepedallock.
C.Movetheoperator'sseatisintotheloaderoperationpositionandfastentheseatbelt.
D.PlacethedirectioncontrolleverinNEUTRALandthetransmissioninsecondgear.
E.EnsureallhydrauliccontrolsareintheNEUTRALposition.
F.Starttheengine.
G.DisengageFour-WheelDrive(4WD),ifequipped.
H.Makesurethattheloaderbucketandstabilizersareraisedinpreparationofforwardtravel.
I.Pressandholdtheservicebrakesandreleasetheparkingbrake.
J.PlacethedirectioncontrolleverinFORWARD.
K.Releasetheservicebrakes.
L.Increasetheenginespeedtofullthrottle.
M.Travelforwardapproximately8m(26ft).
N.Engagetheparkingbrake.Themachineshouldcometoastopwithin2m(6.5ft)ofengagingtheparking
brakeandthetransmissionshouldde-clutch.Contactyourdealerforserviceasneeded.
2.Totesttheservicebrakes:
A.MakesurethatthebackhoeisinthestowedpositionwiththebackhoeswinglockpinintheLOCKposition.
B.Lockthebrakepedalstogetherwiththebrakepedallock.
C.Movetheoperator'sseatisintotheloaderoperationpositionandfastentheseatbelt.
D.PlacethedirectioncontrolleverinNEUTRALandthetransmissioninsecondgear.
E.EnsureallhydrauliccontrolsareintheNEUTRALposition.
F.Starttheengine.
G.DisengageFour-WheelDrive(4WD),ifequipped.
H.Makesurethattheloaderbucketandstabilizersareraisedinpreparationofforwardtravel.
I.Pressandholdtheservicebrakesandreleasetheparkingbrake.
J.PlacethedirectioncontrolleverinFORWARD.
K.Releasetheservicebrakes.
L.Increasetheenginespeedtofullthrottle.
M.Whenthemachineismovingatfullspeedinsecondgear,pushthebrakepedalsandstopthemachine.The
machinemuststopsmoothlyandthebrakepedaleffortmustfeelrm.Contactyourdealerforserviceas
needed.
