Chapter 9 Reprocessing the Endoscope (and related reprocessing accessories)
ULTRASOUND GASTROVIDEOSCOPE GF-UCT180
Dry the endoscope
When aerating the endoscope channels, the air pressure
used for manual drying should be 0.2 MPa or more but less
than 0.5 MPa (≥2 and <5 kgf/cm
2
, ≥29 and <72 psig).
1. Move the elevator control lever in the opposite direction of the “ U”
direction until the forceps elevator stops to make the instrument channel
outlet opened.
2. Attach the washing tube (MH-974) to the elevator channel plug.

3. Cover the distal end, the control section, and the endoscope connector of
the endoscope in sterile lint-free cloths to prevent splashing alcohol from the
channel openings.
4. Feed compressed filtered air of 0.2 MPa or more, less than 0.5 MPa from
the suction cylinder of the 3 openings until no alcohol exits from the distal
end, the instrument channel port, and the suction connector of the
endoscope (e.g. In the case of 0.2 MPa, it is necessary to feed compressed
air for 2 minutes or more for alcohol and 1 minute or more for water.).
5. Feed compressed filtered air of 0.2 MPa or more, less than 0.5 MPa from
the instrument channel port until no alcohol exits from the distal end of the
endoscope (e.g. In the case of 0.2 MPa, it is necessary to feed compressed
air for 2 minutes or more for alcohol and 1 minute or more for water.).
6. Feed compressed filtered air of 0.2 MPa or more, less than 0.5 MPa from
the air/water cylinder until no alcohol exits from the distal end, the air supply
connector, the water supply connector, and the air pipe of the endoscope
(e.g. In the case of 0.2 MPa, it is necessary to feed compressed air for
2 minutes or more for alcohol and 1 minute or more for water.).
