Chapter 10 Reprocessing the Accessories

Equipment needed
Prepare the following equipment, and wear appropriate personal protective
equipment.
If sterile water is not available, prepare the following equipment.
10.2 Manually cleaning the accessories
If manual cleaning could not be performed within 1 hour after the patient
procedure or if you are not sure whether manual cleaning could be performed
within 1 hour, dispose of the accessories because the effectiveness of
reprocessing is not guaranteed.
• Make sure that the items immersed in detergent solution do
not contact one another.
• Make sure not to scratch the seals on the air/water valve and
air/water channel cleaning adapter with brushes, etc.
• Personal protective equipment
• Small basins with tight-fitting lids
• Clean water
• Detergent solution
• Single use combination cleaning brush (BW-412T)
• Single use single-ended cleaning brush (BW-400L)
• Clean, lint-free cloths and/or sponges
•30cm

(30 ml) syringe
• Disinfectant solution
• Sterile water for sterile water rinse
• Sterile, lint-free cloths
• Air compressor (Filtered)
• Small basin with a tight-fitting lid
• 70% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol
