Problem Cause and recommended action
The image brightness is
not optimal.
The objective lens of the distal end of the insertion tube or the
optical adapter is dirty, or the illumination on the optical adapter
is dirty.
Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
The automatic brightness control is not set appropriately.
Use the [BRT] lever to adjust it to the appropriate setting.
The external monitor is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the external monitor appropriately.
The optical adapter is loose.
Attach the optical adapter properly (see “Attaching and
removing the optical adapter” (page 28)).
Color reproduction is poor.
The white balance is not set properly.
Adjust white balance again.
The image color is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the image color appropriately. (See “Adjusting the image
color (only applicable to GX, GX (stereo measurement))
” (page 67))
The noise is noticeable on
the image.
The automatic brightness control is not set appropriately.
Use the [BRT] lever to adjust it to the appropriate setting.
Dynamic Noise Reduction is not set to ON.
Adjust the noise reduction to the appropriate setting in
[DYNAMIC NOISE REDUCTION] in the [IMAGE MODE] menu.
The screen is not
displayed. (The screen is
not displayed properly.)
Set the [POWER] button ( ) of the base unit to OFF and set the
[POWER] button to ON again to restart the instrument.
The scope unit is not attached to the base unit correctly.
Attach the scope unit to the base unit properly.
