INSTALLING THE PISTON AND CYLINDER
1. Install:
top ring
1
2nd ring
2
lower oil ring rail
5
upper oil ring rail
oil ring expander
Be sure to install the piston rings so that the
manufacturer’s marks or numbers face up.
2. Install:
piston
1
piston pin
2
piston pin clip

Apply engine oil onto the poston pin.
Make sure that the mark “IN” on the piston
points towards the intake side of the cylinder.
Before installing the piston pin clip, cover the
crankcase opening with a clean rag to prevent
the clip from falling into the crankcase.
3. Install:
gasket
1
dowel pins
2
4. Lubricate:
piston
piston rings
cylinder
(with the recommended lubricant)
