Calculations
The instrument performs the following calculations:
Background Correction
The background correction process subtracts background from sample nuclide
activity. The background correction is performed before any other calculations
(such as half-life correction) are performed. The correction of the sample count
for background is calculated as:
Background Threshold
The background threshold value is expressed as Counts Per Minute (CPM) and is
calculated from the Instrument Performance Assessment (IPA) background value.
