Diesel Fuel Requirements
Pe
rkins is not in a position to continuously evaluate
and monitor all worldwide distillate diesel fuel
specications that are published by governments and
te
chnological societies.
The Perkins Specication for Distillate Diesel Fuel
pr
ovides a known reliable baseline in order to judge
the expected performance of distillate diesel fuels
that are derived from conventional sources.
Satisfactory e
ngine performance is dependent on the
use of a good quality fuel. The use of a good quality
fuel will give the following results: long engine life
and acceptabl
e exhaust emissions levels. The fuel
must meet the minimum requirements that are stated
in the table 17.
