HL7 Conformance
The exported patient data is sent in messages that comply with the Health Level Seven
(HL7) standard. This document describes the syntax and structure of the HL7 messages
used for patient data exchanged between the Efficia CM Series monitor and the receiving
system. For details about these messages, see Chapter 2, “LAN/WLAN Data Export” and
Chapter 3, “Serial Data Export.”

System Requirements
The monitor and network must meet minimum requirements for LAN, WLAN, or serial
data export. For information about the system requirements for LAN, WLAN, or serial
data export, see the Efficia CM Series Network Configuration Guide.
Intended Audience
This guide is for individuals involved in planning, designing, and implementing an
application that will receive the data exported from Efficia CM Series monitors. Readers
should be familiar with Version 2.4 of the HL7 standard.
