Serial Data Export
This chapter describes the flow of events and the conventions and syntax of the HL7
messages used to send data to a receiving application using the serial interface
adapter.
For information about configuring the network and the Data Export function, see the
Efficia CM Series Installation and Configuration Guide.
Note — The Efficia CM Series monitor serial port cannot be used to connect to a Efficia
Central. The serial port is for data export to an EHR server only.
Serial Data Export Overview
Use the Serial Data Export option to export all measurements results.
Exporting Parameters Displayed in Numeric Panes
The monitor displays measurement data for the current patient in the numeric panes.
The receiving application sends a Query (QRY) message to request all parameters. The
QRY message contains STA (Status) in the What subject filter (QRD-9).
When the receiving application receives all of the data, it sends an Acknowledgement
(ACK) message to the monitor.
When the monitor receives the QRY message, it sends all patient identifiers (or ID
Unknown
), valid and invalid measurements, blank results, and measurements that
exceed high and low alarm limits. If the monitor determines that the QRY is invalid, it
returns a negative ACK message to the receiving application.
