STEP 1: Wash your hands and the puncture site with
warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. Warm
your ngers to increase blood ow.
Getting a Blood Sample
Fingertip
Position the end of the Adjustable
Tip against the side-tip of the n-
ger or alternate testing site. Press
the Trigger Button, and then lift
the Lancing Device away from the
testing site after the puncture is
complete.
For AST
Please refer to the “Alternate Site
Testing (AST)” section. Consult with
your healthcare professional be

fore performing AST.
STEP 2: Select and Lance a Puncture Site.
