Table 5-10 lists the fields that are displayed by the show disk command (in any mode).
Initialized State of the card:
No—Packet Processing ASICs (PPAs) have not been initialized.
Yes—PPAs have been initialized.
Flags Status of the card:
A—Controller is active; always shown for slot 1.
D—I/O carrier card has been assigned as the default traffic card; this assignment is
always reported against the first configured MIC in the system.
E—Egress PPA is ready; reported for slot 2 only.
H—I/O carrier card is administratively shut down; reported for slot 2 only.
I—Ingress PPA is ready.; reported for slot 2 only.
O—I/O carrier card is in the ODD state; reported for slot 2 only.
R—I/O carrier card is ready; reported for slot 2 only.

Field Description
Location Location of the compact-flash (CF) card:
internal—Card is installed in an internal slot.
external—Card is installed in the external slot on the chassis front panel.
512-blocks Size of the file system on this device in 512-byte blocks.

1. The size of the root file system includes the sizes of the /flash file system and the p0 and p1 partitions on the internal-storage device.
2. The size of the /md file system does not include the partition for SmartEdge OS core dumps on the external-storage device; the partition
for core dumps is approximately 500 MB.
Used Number of blocks in use.
Avail Number of blocks available.
Capacity Percent of blocks used in the file system on this device, calculated using the number of usable blocks
(Used + Avail).

3. The number of usable 512-byte blocks (the sum of the Used and Avail fields) on a storage device is approximately 95% of the number
of 512-byte blocks.
4. The capacity of an external-storage device can decrease slightly over time if sectors are marked as unusable (cannot be read or
written).
