16 Touchpad Functions
16.1 Viewing Status
When the STAT key is pressed the display will show the zones that are not ready to be armed.
With Revision N of the Model 4720, if an alarm, trouble, or supervisory condition exists, the LCD scrolls
only the words ALARM, TROUBLE, or SUPERVISORY. You can then press STAT to display the zone
number and location of trouble and supervisory conditions. Press MEM to display the zone number and
location of alarms.
In previous versions of the Model 4720, you had to wait while the LCD scrolled through all zones in alarm
or trouble.
16.2 Silencing Troubles
Press MUTE, MUTE to silence the trouble alert tone. The LCD will show SILENCED instead of
TROUBLE. If a new trouble condition occurs, the alert tone will be reactivated.
16.3 Bypassing Zones
When the system is disarmed and the BYPS key is pressed, the LCD or LED display will show the zone
number of the zones that are currently bypassed. When using a touchpad with an LCD, the location of the
zone will also be displayed. If you wish to display the bypassed zones while the system is armed, you must
press BYPS, followed by your access code. If there are no bypassed zones, the display will remain in the
normal state.
16.3.1 How to Bypass a Zone (System Disarmed)
1. Enter the number of the zone that you wish to bypass.
2. Press BYPS.
3. Touchpad display will show either the bypassed zone, the message ENTER CODE, or the
message RESTRICTED, indicating that the zone cannot be bypassed. If the zone is restricted, a
warning tone will sound.
16.3.2 Unbypassing a Zone (System Disarmed)
1. Enter the number of the zone that you wish to unbypass.
2. Press BYPS. (Zone is now unbypassed.)
3. If there is a warning tone and the zone does not unbypass, it means that the zone would go into
alarm if it were unbypassed.
16.3.3 Bypassing/Unbypassing (System Armed)
When the system is armed you must enter the zone #, press BYPS, followed by your access code.
16.4 Alarm Memory
16.4.1 To Display Alarm Memory
Press MEM when the panel is disarmed to display zone alarms which occurred since the last arming
of the system.

During a “Walk Test”, press MEM to display the zones that were violated. The system will still be
armed during the “Walk Test”.
