5.5 Preparing to perform a proficiency test
You prepare for a proficiency test in the same way you
would prepare to perform a test with a capillary blood
sample. The only difference is the use of the proficiency
sample supplied instead of blood from a patient.
To perform a proficiency test you need the following:
■ The information of at least one code chip for test
strips must be stored in the meter and must match
the lot number of the test strips used.
■ The correct test strips must be available.
■ The proficiency sample must be available.
If you are using the test strip lot for the first time, make
sure that the code chip supplied with these test strips is
at hand.
