The bridges between 1,7 and 8 can be omitted if the receiving soft-
ware ignores the CTS and DCD signals.

* If Start of TeXt/End of TeXt is selected, the above records look as
follows:

** When using an STX/ETX frame, an additional BCC (Block-Check-
Character) may be sent (DIN 66219) to improve data security.
The modulo-2 sum after STX up to and including ETX must be
0 with EVEN and 255 with ODD.

The character set corresponds to the standard ASCII character set
by IBM.
