Select this option in order to make sure the signal is strong enough (see Fig. 32).
Moreover, make sure both the cellular modem and the cellular provider are
recognized. Otherwise, refer to the Appendix B section.
4.2.3 Send SMS

Use this option to test the SMS service (see Fig. 33).
• Insert a cellular phone number and press 'ENTER'.
• The Communicator will send a following test SMS message: "The
communicator is ready to send you alerts using SMS".
5. Address Book
The Address Book is divided into 'Contact Group' and 'Options' (see Fig. 34).

5.1 Contact Group
This group consists of a list of 8 addresses to deliver messages to. 'Contact 1' is the
highest priority address and the 8
th
is the lowest. The communicator sends a message
to 'Contact 1'. If a reset was sent from any Contact the dial sequence would stop.
Otherwise, it will keep rotating between the contacts until reset.
• Type the name (note that the Number keys turn to alphanumeric ones) and
phone number (note that the Number keys turn to numeric ones).
• Use the '+/-' key to change communication method from the 'USE' list. The
'USE' list contains the following selections:
1. Idle – Contact neutralized for temporary service rest without changing the
address.
2. Voice – Voice alert.
3. SMS – SMS alert.
4. Voice + SMS
– Alert for both Voice and SMS.
5. Pager
- Pager alert.
• In order to set the changes press 'ENTER' and select 'YES' for “save settings”.
