2.3) Virtual COM Port Driver Installation Windows 98 SE
Follow these steps to install the Windows 98 VCOM driver:
1. Connect the USB cable between the host computer and the communicator.
2. Windows will open a “Found New Hardware Wizard” window. Press the 'Next'
button to continue.
3. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)" and press the
'Next' button.
4. Select "Specify a location".
5. Press Browse to locate the "CD DRIVE(D,E..)\usb driver" directory. Once this
directory is selected, press the 'Next' button.
6. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and press the 'Next' button.
7. Press Finish to finish installing the "USB Composite Device".
8. Windows will open a second “Found New Hardware Wizard” window. Press the
'Next' button to continue.
9. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)" and press the
'Next' button.
10. Select "Specify a location".
11. Press Browse to locate the "CD DRIVE(D,E..)\ usb driver" directory. Once this
directory is selected, press the 'Next' button.
12. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and press the 'Next' button.
13. Press Finish to finish installing the "USB to UART Bridge Controller".
