6.4 Timing / Power on
The inter character delay shall be lower than 5 ms (independent from the baud rate).
Once a valid command is fully received by the module, an acknowledge (AC) or not acknowledge
(NA) response is sent back within 10 ms.
Not valid commands are ignored by the module.
The module responds to non-distance related commands within a maximum of 210 ms (first byte).
The module responds to distance related commands within a maximum of 860 ms** (first byte).
Wake-up delay:
o “Stand-by Mode” to “Normal operating Mode” delay is lower than 75 ms.
o OFF Mode” to “Normal operating Mode” delay is lower than 75 ms.
Start-up delay:
o from Disconnected to “Normal operating Mode”, and
o from “Disconnected” to “OFF Mode” and then to “Normal operating Mode” delay is lower
than 75 ms.
The maximal duration of a IBIT test is lower than 150 ms
The maximal duration of a PBIT test is lower than 150 ms
**This timing is accurate for isolated single range request commands. For closely stacked single range
requests commands this timing may be increased to up to 1 second, in order to comply with eye safety
limitations. This timing is dependent on range conditions.
Range commands for continuous and block request already watch out the eye safety buffer.
