Conformance to standards Full wire speed switching complying with IEEE 802.3 (all ports)
In keeping with IEEE 802.3, the data throughput depends on the frame length.
Table 8- 106 Number of frames per second depending on frame length
Number of frames per second Frame length
At 100 Mbps At 1 000 Mbps
14 8810 1 488 095 64 bytes
84 459 844 595 128 bytes
45 290 452 899 256 bytes
23 496 234 962 512 bytes
11 973 119 732 1 024 bytes
9 615 96 154 1 280 bytes
8 127 81 274 1 518 bytes
The number of IE Switches X300 connected in a line influences the frame delay. When a
frame passes through an IE Switch X300, it is delayed by the Store&Forward function of the
IE Switch X-300. This delay also depends on the frame length. The more IE Switches X-300
a frame runs through, the higher the frame delay.
Table 8- 107 Example of the frame delays caused by latency at 100 Mbps
Frame length Delay resulting from latency
64 bytes by approximately 10 microseconds
1 500 bytes by approximately 130 microseconds
