Configuring a RAID1 system
Requirements:
Two identical SATA hard disks; the primary hard disk contains the operating system and
data (boot drive), the second is empty.
The default pre-installed operating systems Windows XP or 2000 already include the
required drivers and the RAID software (Intel Matrix Storage Manager).
If the primary hard disk does not have an operating system installed, follow the instructions
provided by the section "Restoring the Factory State of the Software Using the
Restore DVD".
Setup:
1. Change the following setting in the BIOS Setup:
Menu Advanced > SATA Configuration > RAID support = Enabled
2. Restart the device (Steps 2. and 3. are not required as of BIOS version V 05.01.05).
3. Also change this setting:
Menu Boot > Set SCSI/RAID to desired position
Notice
Do not change the setting in the RAID option ROM. The configuration of the RAID
systems is made entirely in the supplied program, "Intel Application Accelerator".
4. Restart the system.
5. Install the "Intel Matrix Storage Console" application and run it.
6. Select from View > Advanced Mode and then in Actions, select the Option "Create RAID
Volume from Existing Hard Drive".
