Introduction
You configure and assign parameters to the ET 200MP (interface module and I/O modules)
with STEP 7 or in the configuration software of another manufacturer.

* The TIA Portal supports GSDML specification V2.25. The ET 200MP is delivered with a GSD file based on specification
V2.3. The GSD file can be installed and used in the TIA Portal.
Configuration of the ET 200MP
Observe the STEP 7 online help and/or the documentation of the configuration software
manufacturer.
7.1 Selection of the power supply (PS) module
Whether you require an additional power supply (PS) module for your assembly, depends on
the power consumption by all I/O modules from the backplane bus. The power budget
calculation balances the power provided by the interface module and the power supply (PS)
module(s) via the backplane bus, against the required power for the I/O modules.
● If you use STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V12 and above to plan your configuration, you will be
supported in the power budget calculation with corresponding advice.
● If you use the GSD file for ET 200MP to plan your configuration, you must perform the
power budget calculation manually.
