5.1.1 Proximity switch cable shielding
The proximity switch shield should be grounded to the metal case on the switch side and to
the shield connection on the terminal module at the other end. This grounding to the
machine frame should be made in such a way that it will not corrode.
Machine safety and well-shielded grounding connections require good conductive
connection between metal parts of machine components. Coatings and corrosion
compromise the electrical continuity of the machine.
