5.5.6 Acquisition of times / time-triggered output
If it is necessary to acquire times (e.g., measure the duration of a pulse) or to output a signal
for a specific time period (e.g., output a pulse for a certain duration), a Measuring Input
technology object or an Output Cam / Output Cam Track technology object connection to a
virtual axis can be used for this purpose.
The virtual axis is moved at constant velocity, e.g., at 1,000 degrees per second.
Accordingly, an angular degree of 0.1 degree would correspond to a time period of 100 µs.
