7 Trouble shooting
7.1 Interpretation of fault messages
1) If such error messages occur frequently then report the exact wording of the message to the hotline
Display shows
Cause / Action to be taken
24V supply too low
Battery voltage is too low and mains disconnected.
 restore mains voltage  then reset
24V supply too high
Battery voltage is too high.
 check mains voltage if ok % replace K3X...
battery capacity INSUFFICIENT
Negative result of ’battery load test’ (voltage 23.5V with load of
0.7..1A for 10sec’ not
achieved).
 replace battery  then reset
BREAK > line ##
Break in detector loop.
 check cable connection
BREAK in coll. line ##/zn ###
Break in conventional line, missing detector or EOL20.
 check detector base and wiring
BREAK in line to FSD / key missing
Wire break in line to FSD (only with VdS card).
 check wiring
BREAK in line to HM/UE
Wire break in line to ÜE.
 check wiring
BREAK in spec. zone ### (coll.ln) Break in conventional line with 1min fault delay.
 check detector and installation
Broken glass on coll.ln, zone ###
Broken glass on a manual call point.
 replace broken glass then reset
ConTrol zn ###/##: dev. DEFECTIVE
Displayed device is defective or if device is CB320A or
DC1192 possibly without 24V supply.
 replace or check device
ConTrol zn ###/##: needs CONFIG.
Devices have been removed and new devices have been in-
serted.
 assign device to zone
ConTrol zn ###/##: NO RESPONSE
Displayed device (AB... or ABI... or CB...) is missing.
 check device or wiring
ConTrol zn ###/##: UNKNOWN state
Displayed device (AB... or ABI... or CB...) is defective.
 check device
Door OPEN on FSD
Door open at FSD after fire alarm is reset (only with VdS
card).
 check FSD device
EARTH FAULT to 0V
Resistance to earth of potential ‘24V’ <17k Ω, also onboard–
LED ’LD1’ lit.
 remove all pluggable terminals until fault disappears, then
repair the defective wiring
EARTH FAULT to 24V
Resistance to earth of potential ‘24V’ <17k Ω, also onboard–
LED ’LD1’ lit.
 remove all pluggable terminals until fault disappears, then
repair the defective wiring
EARTH FAULT on LON device ##
Earth fault on corresponding LON-device.
 restore short to earth or remove jumper ’X30’ on K3I110
Error:Buffer empty, Mess. ###, Timer ###
Indicates a software problem. 1)
 unpower system and re−power again
(if message comes on again replace main board K3X...)
