7.6.2 Supplying the SunnyHomeManager with Voltage via the
Top-Hat Rail Power Supply Unit
Danger to life due to electric shock
Under fault conditions, when working on the power supply circuit there may be dangerous
voltages present on the Sunny Home Manager.
• Ensure that there is a disconnection unit (e.g. circuit breaker) present outside of the power
supply unit. This ensures that you can safely disconnect the SunnyHomeManager from the
voltage supply.
• The disconnect unit must be freely accessible at all times.
Risk of fire due to connecting two power supply units
If two power supply units are connected to the SunnyHomeManager, the requirements on
current sources with limited output will be exceeded. This can result in the SunnyHomeManager
overheating.
• Only connect one power supply unit to the SunnyHomeManager.
As an alternative to the plug-in power supply unit, you can supply the SunnyHomeManager with
voltage using a top-hat rail power supply unit.
Additionally required accessories (not included in scope of delivery):
☐ Top-hat rail power supply unit
☐ One AC connection cable
☐ One cable for connecting the top-hat rail power supply unit to the SunnyHomeManager
Requirements for the top-hat rail power supply unit:
☐ Output current including short circuit: 1A
☐ Nominal output power: 12W
☐ DC output voltage: 12V (tolerance: ±10%)
☐ Nominal current: 1A
☐ Compliance with the requirements on current sources with limited power in accordance with
IEC 60950
Requirements for the cable used for connecting the top-hat rail power supply unit to the
SunnyHomeManager:
☐ Conductor cross-section: 0.2mm
2
to 1.5mm
2
☐ The cable has at least two insulated conductors.
