8.4.1 Setting the Operating Mode of the SMARadio-Controlled
Socket
You can configure the operating mode of the SMAradio-controlled socket via the touch key on the
SMAradio-controlled socket or via SunnyPortal or the SunnyPortal app (see the user manual
"SunnyHomeManager in SunnyPortal"). How to configure the operating mode via the touch key
of the SMAradio-controlled socket is described in the following.
Operating mode Explanation
Automatic Control of the SMAradio-controlled socket by the
SunnyHomeManager. Depending on the current control command
of the SunnyHomeManager, the SMAradio-controlled socket is ei-
ther switched on or off in this mode.
• On: The connected load can draw electric current.
• Off: The connected load cannot draw electric current.
On The SMAradio-controlled socket is switched on. The connected load
can draw electric current.
No control of the SMAradio-controlled socket by the
SunnyHomeManager.
Off The SMAradio-controlled socket is switched off. The connected load
cannot draw electric current.
No control of the SMAradio-controlled socket by the
SunnyHomeManager.
Requirements:
☐ The SMAradio-controlled socket must be inserted in the outlet.
☐ The upper horizontal LED must be glowing orange or green.

Requirement for "Automatic" mode
You can only set Automatic mode if you have configured the SMAradio-controlled
socket for the connected load in SunnyPortal.
• If the SMAradio-controlled socket was not registered together with the
SunnyHomeManager in SunnyPortal, add the SMAradio-controlled socket to the
system as a new device (see the user manual "SunnyHomeManager in
SunnyPortal").
