2 Product Overview
2.1 System Description
The X3-ULTRA series is a versatile inverter that includes inversion, solar charging, and
battery charging, etc. It greatly meets the requirements of solar-powered roofs and
supports various intelligent solutions such as load management, wireless metering, dual
battery terminals, microgrids, etc., to achieve efficient and economical energy utilization.
The X3-ULTRA series can be used with different capacities of SolaX battery.
X3-ULTRA series (the device covered in this manual)
The X3-ULTRA series inverter manages battery and system energy.
PV modules
PV panel works in MPPT mode. The maximum number of PV string per MPPT
tracker is two for 15 kW, 19.9 kW and 20 kW inverter and three for 25 kW and 30
kW inverter.
Battery
The series inverter should be coupled a lithium-ion battery. The battery
communicates with the inverter via BMS and must comply with the specifications
of the regulations.
Meter/CT
The meter/CT is used by the inverter for import / export or consumption
readings, and manages the battery charge / discharge accordingly for smart
energy management applications. The X3-ULTRA series inverter supports wireless
meter solution.
Adapter Box (supported)
With SolaX Adapter Box, you can connect the smart grid heat pump to the energy
storage systems, realizing direct control of the heat pump through inverter. Please
refer to "14.2 Adapter Box Application" for specific wiring and setting.
Datahub (supported)
SolaX DataHub 1000 is a professional device that helps monitor and manage
your site with multiple inverters. Its power control functions enable the system
to comply with local grids. Please refer to "14.4 Datahub Application" for specific
wiring and setting.
EV Charger (supported)
X3-ULTRA series inverter can communicate with SolaX EV-Charger to form an
intelligent photovoltaic, storage and EV charging energy system, thus maximizing
the utilization of photovoltaic energy. Please refer to "14.3 EV-Charger
Application" for specific wiring and setting.
