Troubleshooting
If you have a problem, go through the operating instructions
and the following list. If the problem is not included in the list,
unplug the unit and contact your Sony dealer or local
authorized Sony service facility.
Symptom Cause and remedy
Program editing does not
start.
No tape in the recorder.
The tape in the recorder is at the end.
The safety tab of the tape is set to prevent recording.
The tape in the recorder is rewound to the beginning of the
tape. Recording is not possible for he first 15 seconds from
the beginning of the tape.
The menu display
appears in black and
white.
The menu display is shown in black and white. This is not a
problem.
Even though you pressed
POWER ON, the unit
dose not turn on. (The
POWER indicator does
not light up.)
Check that the Video Walkman connected to this unit is
powered on.
Connect an AC adaptor or battery to the Video Walkman
connected to this unit.
No playback picture
appears.
Turn on the power of the player.
Press PLAYER.
The tape in the player is at the end.
If you use a video camera recorder for the player, set the
input/output selector of the video/audio jacks to output.
If you are not using the S video connector, disconnect the S
video cable.
If you use a video camera recorder for the player, set the
POWER switch to VTR or PLAYER.
If the player has a LANC M/S switch or menu setting, set to S.
Turn on the TV or monitor.
Set the input selector of the TV or monitor to the input signal.
The recorder does not
operate.
Turn on the power of the recorder.
Press RECORDER.
No tape in the recorder.
