Chapter 7 – F4T Controller Calibration
2 CAUTION: Calibrating the F4T Controller requires the electrical compartment to be
exposed. Live and potentially lethal voltages will be present. Use extreme
caution to prevent injury and death.
! CAUTION: The Power button on the F4T Controller must be OFF (no green check mark)
when performing the calibration procedure to prevent a thermal runaway
condition.
Equipment Required
• Precision Millivolt Source, 0.000 mV and 50.000 mV for Temperature Sensor input.
• Precision Milliamp Source, 0.000 mV and 20.000 mA for Humidity Sensor input (Humidity
chambers only).
Input Setup and Calibration
Disconnect the chamber from the power source and remove the top cover (or open lower door on
larger units). See F4T diagram on the next page for the terminal locations.
For Air Sensor Input Calibration
• Remove the wires from terminals R1 and S1 on F4T Slot 1. (R1 is Blue and S2 is Red)
• Connect the Precision Millivolt source as follows:
+ lead to R1 on Module 1
– lead to S1 on Module 1
• Reconnect the chamber to the power source and turn the Conditioning switch (or TEMP
switch depending on which model chamber you have) on the front panel to the OFF position.
• To enter the Calibration menu, press the Menu button, then the Service button, then the
Calibration button, then the Temp Sensor “Actions” button. Next, press Perform Field
Calibration and follow the on-screen prompts.
For Humidity Sensor Input Calibration
• Remove the wires from terminals T1 and S1 on F4T Slot 4. (T1 is Red and S1 is Black)
• Connect the Precision Milliamp source as follows:
+ lead to T1 on Slot 4
– lead to S1 on Slot 4
• Reconnect the chamber to the power source and turn the Conditioning switch (or TEMP
switch depending on which model chamber you have) on the front panel to the Event 1
position. The Power button on the F4T must remain OFF.
• To enter the Calibration menu, press the Menu button, then the Service button, then the
Calibration button, then the Humidity Sensor “Actions” button. Next, press Perform Field
Calibration and follow the on-screen prompt.
