h) Ectasia Screening
When diagnosing ectasia in practice, check thinning of
cornea, Fleischer ring, Vogts striae (Keratoconus line),
etc. as per normal examination.
Ectasia Screening is not applicable to the corneal
transplanted eyes such as PKP, DALK, or DSAEK.
Ectasia Screening is an application useful to detect
ectasia pattern cases such as keratoconus and Pellucid
marginal corneal degeneration.
The front and rear of the cornea are analyzed and
evaluated to check if there is a pattern unique to ectasia
on the color map.
When the Ectasia Screening tab is selected, the following
message appears.
“This program is not to be used as a general screening
program for abnormal corneal conditions. It only detects
ectasia patterns in corneal topography, distinguishing
these from normal corneas and corneas with other
pathologies than ectasia.
Click the “OK” button to display the map and screen.
