Connection of Transceiver
Follow the next procedure to connect the transceiver.
1)
Connect the other end of the AUI cable connected to the Ethernet board of the PCS-DS main
unit chassis to the D-sub connector (male) of the transceiver.
Fix the AUI cable securely with the slide lock.
2)
Connect the 10BASE5 coaxial cable to the N-type connector (female) of the transceiver.
Tighten the screw part of the N-type connector to fix it securely.
3)
Connect the 10BASE5 coaxial cable to the other N-type connector (female) of the
transceiver.
Tighten the screw part of the N-type connector to fix it securely.
If the own PCS-DS station is at the network termination, attach the terminator (50?) to the
end of the N-type connector of the transceiver.
INSTRUCTION:
If the PCS-DS main unit is in redundant configuration, use the multi-port transceiver that has
2 channels of D-sub connectors (male). Connect the AUI cables connected to CN1 of the
primary and secondary Ethernet boards to the multi-port transceiver connected to the A
system Ethernet control LAN (the A system of the 10BASE5 coaxial cable). Connect the AUI
cables connected to CN2 of the primary and secondary Ethernet boards to the multi-port
transceiver connected to the B system Ethernet control LAN (the B system of the 10BASE5
coaxial cable).
