D To cool off your Toy ota aft er it has
been par ked in the hot sun, drive wit h
the windows open for a few minutes.
This v ents t he hot air, al lowing the air
condit ioning to cool t he interi or mor e
quick ly.
D Make sure the air intake grilles in front
of t he winds hield ar e not blocked (by
leaves or s now, for example) .
D Keep the area under the fr ont s eats
clear to all ow air to cir culat e through-
out the vehic le.
D On cold days , set the f an s peed to
high for a mi nute to hel p c lear the
intak e duc ts of s now or mois ture. This
can reduce the amount of fogging on
the windows.
D When dr iving on dust y r oads, clos e all
windows. If dus t t hrown up by the ve-
hicl e is s til l drawn int o the v ehic le aft er
clos ing the windows, i t is recommended
that the air intake selector be set to
FRESH and the f an speed selec tor to
any sett ing except off .
D If f ollowing anot her vehi cle on a dusty
road, or dr ivi ng in windy and dusty
condit ions, i t is recommended t hat the
air i ntake s elect or be temporar ily s et to
RECIRCULATE, which will clos e off t he
outsi de passage and prev ent outs ide
air and dus t fr om enteri ng the vehic le
interior.
CAUTION
To prevent t he windshield from fog-
ging up, do not use the windshi eld
air fl ow button duri ng cool air opera-
tion i n extremel y humid weat her. The
diff erence bet ween the temperatur e of
the outside air and that of the wind-
shield can cause the out er surface of
the windshiel d t o f og up, blocki ng
your vision.
